NGA CARE SELL HIGHLY RESPECTED NURSING HOME GROUP AFTER 50 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP!

We are extremely honoured to announce the recent sale of Willover Property Limited.
NGA Care were entrusted with the sale of Stanley House and Abbeydale nursing homes in Derby. These well-presented, converted and extended care facilities were opened by the Shepperson family back in 1975 and 1986, respectively. Acting for the current Directors Mike and Nicky Shepperson, we conducted a highly confidential sale process to enable our clients to retire from the sector after a long and successful period of ownership.

The management run nursing homes are conveniently clustered on the Duffield Road, close to Derby city centre, both are rated Good by the CQC and are registered for a total of 83 residents.

Abbeydale and Stanley House have always been about putting people first and I am confident that through the sales process with NGA Care, the homes are in excellent hands.”

The nursing homes were acquired by local care operators Iqbal and Perminder Sanghera, who own the award-winning New Lodge Nursing Home in Mickleover, which was also acquired through NGA Care. Iqbal comments: “It was a pleasure working with Nick on another successful transaction, the whole process from start to finish was well managed and professional. Stanley House and Abbeydale’s values, staff, and community ties will remain intact. The homes have been a cornerstone of Derby for five decades. My priority is to honour its heritage while ensuring seamless continuity in the exceptional care residents and families rely on”.

Professional accounting advice to the sellers was expertly handled by David Nelson, Senior Partner at PKF Smith Cooper, who also oversaw the financial due diligence and taxation advice. Martyn Brierley, Partner & Head of Corporate & Finance at Flint Bishop assisted by George Ottewell superbly dealt with all legal aspects of the transaction. Pennington’s solicitors acted buyside, with Rob Burns of Hazelwoods undertaking the financial and tax due diligence process. Funding was arranged by Steve Sargeant at Barclays.
